Thank you for the kind words. We are so glad you like the platform. The team worked hard to make it in to a great experience and it is only going to get better.

Christopher, this is a forum for suggestions. If the labs are not working you need to open a ticket so that we can assign it to a engineer to resolve.

Cognitive Class Labs is a dynamic environment where we experiment a lot. We frequently add new features and tools that help our learners acquire new skills. At the same time, we also remove experiments that we don't think have lived up to their potential or the underlying products that were providing the function have gone away. IBM Analytics Exchange is no longer a service on the IBM Cloud so we decided to remove it and avoid confusion.
We do realize that many screen shots still contain the visuals. We will be updating many of our videos going forward.

Thank you for reporting this issue. We are fixing it in two ways:
    1. Fixing the Apache Toree - R kernel in Jupyter, and
    2. Changing the labs to use JupyterLab the new and much improved Jupyter environment for Data Scientists.
Both should be done in the next few days.

If I understand this feature request correctly, the goal is to be able to use GeoPandas to work in Jupyter notebooks. I hope I got this right.
I tried installing GeoPandas in a Python 2 Jupyter notebook. Everything seems to have worked and I did not get any messages about unsatisfied dependencies:

You are using pip version 8.1.2, however version 9.0.1 is available.
You should consider upgrading via the 'pip install --upgrade pip' command.

I understand that Rtree is an optional package so I went ahead and installed it as well. And it also installed just fine.

    !pip install rtree

    Collecting rtree
    Downloading Rtree-0.8.3-py2-none-any.whl
Requirement already satisfied (use --upgrade to upgrade): setuptools in ./common/.virtualenv/python2/lib/python2.7/site-packages (from rtree)
    Installing collected packages: rtree
    Successfully installed rtree-0.8.3
You are using pip version 8.1.2, however version 9.0.1 is available.
You should consider upgrading via the 'pip install --upgrade pip' command.

Does that mean that this feature request is no longer needed?

Arvinder, we fixed this issue about 3 weeks ago. You need to update your DSWB Jupyter to the latest level.

Eric, thanks for sharing your idea. Are you looking to have this capability in a particular tool (e.g. Jupyter, Zeppelin, RStudio etc.) and using a specific language (e.g. Python, R, Scala etc.)? There are a number of libraries in each of the languages that may fit what you are looking to use. For example, matplotlib with basemap may do what you want in Python and we have it in both Jupyter and Zeppelin. I would also recommend taking a look at Brunel https://github.com/Brunel-Visualization/Brunel/wiki. It recently added maps for visualization.

This sounds like a bug and not a suggestion for a feature. Have you created a support ticket?
