I suggest you require prerequisites before allowing anybody to enroll in this program
Taking the data science classes by anybody unfamiliar with any of the basic programs used during this course makes no sense. It's monumentally frustrating trying to figure out the basics like this:
Exercise 3: (Jupyter notebook)
2. From the menu, click on "Insert", then "Insert Cell Above" or "Insert Cell Below".; While it's clear how to insure one or the cells, it's difficult to figure out how to enter the second now.
3. Note you can use the keyboard shortcuts: [a] - Insert a Cell Above; [b] - Insert a Cell Below. Really? What am I suppose to click on??????1 vote -
Not always so clear on when I have a correct answer
Your user interface doesn't always make it clear that I am correct. Also adding print(xxxxx) to the answer when you're asking for output shouldn't be counted as wrong.

Add support for Julia language. Something like JuliaBox (online tool for Julia notebooks).

My Courses section should be divided in Completed and In Progress.
Additionally, a progress bar would be nice to have and a feature to resume learning from where you left off.

Update Seahorse version
Update Seahorse. The current version do not support Firefox browser on (L)Ubuntu 16.04 LTS.
I am getting a browser not supported message while trying to load Seahorse. Going through documentation of Seahorse, Firefox 49+ is supported. My browser version is 56.
So, please update current version of Seahorse.
Thanks for your efforts in putting together such a wonderful environment.

The tutorials are not clear for a novice
It seems that your tutorials mostly miss the mark (at least for me). I was really interested in SeaHorse, I was able to run the first regression tutorial, saw the gears spin, but don't see any results. All I can do is download the workflow. There are various modules in the workflow, but no description of what they do or why they are there. There are lots of other modules in the toolbox, but no real indication of how to use them. Under regression, there are lots of variations, again with no description. Going to the Documentation link it threw…

Adding 7z compression/decompression tools
Data needed to be uploaded/download may be huge. 7z format is widely used and one of the best existing formats fo far.
Adding support for this compression format would be great4 votes -

I would like to see the ability to display Spatial Data on a map. Points/Polygons/Locations/Distances/Clustering etc.
There needs to be a service that can display large data sets on a map. This service would be similar in nature to the application QGIS. The elements that should be able to be displayed would be point locations/polygons/line of points etc. Colors should be able to be assigned to different types of data based on criteria specified. An example is attached.

Uploading notebooks
Upload notebooks from a local drive.
15 votesCurrently there are two ways to upload notebooks in BDU Labs:
1. Open My Data in the sidebar. Use the “Upload Data” feature. There is a known limitation of only being able to upload within /resources/data, but Jupyter will still recognize any ipynb you upload as a notebook.
2. Alternately, open Jupyter. After it opens, drag and drop your notebook from a file window (e.g Windows Explorer or Mac Finder) into your browser. It will upload the notebook and flash messages at the top of the screen while doing so.
I appreciate that these options can be a little obscure. We’re always reviewing ways to make the user experience in BDU Labs simpler and more intuitive.

Support for GPU computation
As Tensorflow is accesible through Jupyter notebooks it could be great to have GPU support to train Deep Learning models
